Frozen (2013)

If you have kids, or even just know kids, I probably don’t need to tell you about Frozen. This 2013 animated feature was a worldwide phenomenon. He’s won two Oscars and inspired countless Halloween costumes, not to mention the billions he’s made for Disney in merchandise alone. The story of a young woman struggling with her secret abilities while her sister tries to save her from herself is a timeless tale of love, family, and celebration of what makes us all unique.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010)

Based on Jeff Kinney’s best-selling novel, Diary of a Wimpy Kid tells the story of Greg, an ordinary kid who must deal with the horrors of, uh, middle school. Greg must learn responsibility and that there are consequences to his actions as he adjusts to an environment much faster than he was used to in elementary school. It’s one of the best kids’ movies on Disney Plus, giving young viewers a relatable narrative that doesn’t speak to them and instead takes their issues seriously.
Winnie the Pooh (2011)

The magical world of AA Milne’s Winnie the Pooh comes to life in this original 2011 film, adapting three of Milne’s beloved stories. In this animated feature, Pooh and his friends attempt to find Eeyore’s missing tail, investigate the possible kidnapping of Christopher Robin by a monster known as Backson, and more.
The Lion King (1994)

One of the most beloved Disney animated classics and among the best kids’ movies on Disney Plus, The Lion King sees the lion cub Simba exiled from his home when his uncle betrays his father. Growing up in exile, Simba and his friends plan his return to claim his birthright as king in this Shakespearean family drama. You can watch the 2019 CGI remake on Disney Plus too.
Tangled (2010)

Tangled is Disney’s CGI retelling of Rapunzel’s story, giving the long-haired character more depth and backstory than most viewers will likely be used to. With vocal performances from Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, Tangled sees Rapunzel escape with the help of a wanted bandit as she learns of his years of imprisonment.
Secret Society of the Second Born to the Royal Family (2020)

When Sam is sent to summer school by her mother the queen, she soon realizes that she and her classmates have been tricked. They’re all royals, and they all have secret superpowers. They were gathered to train as protectors of their kingdoms. Can Sam and the others respect their birthright?
Encanto (2021)

One of Disney’s best movies of recent years, Oscar-winning Encanto is definitely one of the best kids’ movies on Disney Plus. When Mirabel, the only member of the Madrigal family without special powers, realizes her family is under threat, she must dig into her family history to find a solution.
The Little Mermaid (1989)

A classic for a reason, The Little Mermaid is well worth a watch if you have kids at home. Mermaid Ariel dreams of walking the earth. She gets her chance when she makes a deal with the witch Ursula. His new legs come at a cost, however. She exchanges her voice. And soon, she realizes that she traded more than she expected.
Going Red (2022)

Pixar’s newest title, Turning Red is a touching story about a 13-year-old Toronto girl juggling her friends and family responsibilities. It becomes much more difficult when she suddenly finds herself transforming into a giant red panda whenever her emotions rise, which makes her mother fiercely protective.
The Emperor’s New Groove (2000)

One of the funniest Disney animated movies, and certainly one of the best kids’ movies on Disney Plus, The Emperor’s New Groove is a clever look at the corrupting influence of power. Emperor Kuzco must learn humility and work with an unlikely ally to regain his throne when it is taken from him by his power-hungry adviser, who has turned Kuzco into a llama.
Magic Camp (2020)

A feel-good comedy about making friends and fitting in, Magic Camp sees a group of misfit kids reunite at Magic Camp. As the children find a sense of belonging together, they work to help their advisor, an unlucky magician, rediscover his love of magic.
Kim Possible: So the Drama (2005)

One of the best kids shows of the 2000s, Kim Possible was a huge hit, and the show even got a movie. In Kim Possible: So the Drama, Kim’s chances of attending the prom are threatened when Dr. Drakken plots to find his weakness and finally achieve world domination.
Finding Nemo (2003)

When young clownfish Nemo is caught and placed in a dentist’s aquarium, his father sets out to find him, crossing the ocean and meeting new friends along the way. Meanwhile, Nemo plans his own escape from captivity.
Bolt (2008)

Bolt is a huge movie star, but he doesn’t realize that the characters he plays on screen aren’t real. When he is accidentally shipped to New York, he must find his way back to Hollywood while eventually realizing he may not have the superpowers he grew accustomed to on set.
Cinderella (1950)

Based on the classic fable, Cinderella sees the poor titular character abused by her stepmother and stepsisters. One day, she manages to escape it all when her magical fairy godmother helps her attend a royal ball. There, the prince falls in love with her and will stop at nothing to find the mysterious Cinderella. But of course, his family plans to intervene.
Big Hero 6 (2014)

The city of San Fransokyo is under threat and a tech genius must team up with his health robot Baymax and his friends to save the day. Based on the Marvel comic of the same name, Big Hero 6 is a great entry into superhero movies for kids.
Mary Poppins (1964)

An undeniable classic from Disney’s back catalog, with endlessly quoted songs and iconic performances galore, Mary Poppins is definitely among the best kids’ movies on Disney Plus. When the Banks kids welcome their new nanny, they have no idea what the life-changing experience of having the magical Mary Poppins in their lives will be.
Toy Story (1995)

Andy is an ordinary kid with ordinary toys. Or so he thinks. When he’s not around, Andy’s bedroom is home to a whole community of sentient toys. And when a new toy threatens the established pecking order, the toys must work together to find harmony and be there for Andy, above all else.
Musical High School (2006)

When sparks fly between a basketball star and a handsome nerd, the two audition for the lead roles in their upcoming high school musical. It should be an easy path to the end of their fairy tale, but between meeting their existing school obligations and avoiding sabotage from a jealous classmate, they’ll have to keep their eyes on the prize.
Bambi (1942)

Watch Bambi as he grows up, going on adventures with his friends as the prince of the forest. This film may shock some very young viewers but offers a powerful mediation on loss and strength in adversity. Bambi is surely one of the best kids movies on Disney Plus, and an animated classic.
Moana (2016)

Moana, the teenage daughter of a Polynesian chef, seeks to define her own life. She gets the chance to go on an adventure when her village is threatened and she must return a relic to a goddess to save her people. She is aided by the demigod Maui along the way, forging a stronger connection to her heritage while finding her own identity.
