GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) — Everyone remembers their favorite childhood movie. As times change, some popular movies may not appeal to us kids.

Fall Movie Schedule: From ‘Blonde’ to ‘Wakanda Forever’

With New ‘Pinocchio’ Live-Action Reboot Coming Disney+ September 8. Cabletv.com conducted a study to find out which movies the kids liked the most. They surveyed 1,126 Americans in nine regions and here’s what they found:

  • The Lion King was most popular in the Central Northeast, Central Southeast, and South Atlantic regions.
  • The biggest “Wizard of Oz” fans are no longer in Kansas. They are found in the Mid-Atlantic region including New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
  • In true New England fashion, the area has layers. Responses favored “Shrek” (2001), Dreamworks’ anti-fairy tale that blossomed into a monstrous franchise.
  • The children of the Mountains region chose the 2013 musical hit “Frozen”.
