Simurg Kids Music Festival opens in Baku [PHOTO]

The Simurg Kids Music Festival 2021 solemnly opened in Baku. The organizers of the project set themselves the task of identifying all the creative capacities of the young people.

The Simurg Kids Music Festival 2021 opened with a wonderful open-air concert in Icherisheher, next to the Art Tower Gallery.

Festival director, pianist Saida Tagizade addressed the opening ceremony.

“Simurg Kids Music Festival 2019 was successfully held in Baku. The festival was held in partnership with the Central Music School of the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow. Famous music teachers Mira Marchenko, Alexander Gindin, Daniil Sayamov, Tatyana Titova, Farid Adigozalzade who works in Turkey, as well as artists from Azerbaijani people Yegana Akhudova and Murad Huseynov participated in the festival. Unfortunately, the festival was postponed last year because we did not want to organize the festival in an online format, ”she told Trend Life.

The previous festival only took place between pianists. This year, the festival’s programming should be more diverse and spectacular. Thus, the Simurg Kids Music Festival 2021 brings together not only pianists but also musicians and even singers.

The Simurg Kids Music Festival 2021 is expected to reach regions across the country. Festival participants will also be selected from young talents living in Gandja, Sumgayit and Gabala.

Major events will take place in various cities within the framework of the festival supported by the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education, Icherisheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve, Baku Media Center, Council of arts of Azerbaijan (NGO), Pasha Holding and Aqua Vita.

The Simurg Kids Music Festival also focuses on educational projects. During the festival, at the beginning or at the end of the previous academic year, the project organizers and the music teachers select the most talented young people for the casting.

Young talents are offered to carry out a special program prepared by the project organizers and music teachers.

They are also trained by foreign music professionals once a month. In 2021, young talents will be trained by music experts from Georgia and Turkey.

In addition, art exhibitions will be organized in partnership with the Azerbaijan Arts Council as part of the festival.

Students from Fikrat Amirov Art School No.6, Music School No.22 named after Niyazi, Leopold and Mstislav Rostropovich, Music School No.21 and School of Bulbul music performed during the opening ceremony of the festival.

The concert featured famous pieces of music such as Arzu by Niyazi, “Spanish Dance” by Manuel de Falla, the waltz from the ballet “Seven Beauties” by Gara Garayev and “Polka” by Dmitry Shostakovich.

Speaking about the festival, 13-year-old violinist Ramiza Mammadli said she plans to devote her life to music and enter the Baku Academy of Music.

“I’ve been playing the violin for about eight years and I’ve had some pretty good accomplishments – I’m a winner of various competitions. Almost everyone in my family is involved in music. So I absorbed a love for music.” , she said. noted.

A pupil of Leopold and Mstislav Rostropovich, Elvin Salmanov said that he played chess, but then had a great desire to study music.

“When I was six years old, I started to study both vocals and saxophone. During my forties, I participated in many virtual concerts and festivals, but it is much more enjoyable to perform during a live concert. Here you can enjoy the applause and the audience reaction to your performance, which is very inspiring, “he said.

11-year-old violinist Aysu Mammadli very much enjoys listening to the works of famous Azerbaijani composer Arif Melikov.

“I really like the pieces of music composed by Arif Melikov. I also listen to pieces of music by classical and modern composers. By the way, at the beginning of my studies, my parents sent me to take piano lessons, but I have always been fascinated by the violin, so my parents let me change music departments, ”said Aysu Mammadli.
