Kids music

Great children’s music shows for your little Mozart or rock star

As parents, we want our children to be as well balanced as possible in their upbringing and interests. Yes, STEM learning is important. Sport keeps us healthy and teaches us teamwork and perseverance. But let’s not forget the vast and wonderful world of the arts! Literature, painting and, of course, music. And since children learn a lot through television, we have set up music programs for children to sing, dance, clap and learn at the same time.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a shortage of programming for shows explicitly about music. Fortunately, it’s a little OK! Writing for PBS Kids, Dr. Robert A. Cutietta, dean of the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, said that one of the best ways to encourage musicality in a child is to… just start listening to music together. ! Have it all day, sing and dance together – make it fun. These tips may seem simple, but when you’re talking about something as universal and innate as music, it doesn’t have to be complicated.

There are a lot of TV shows and series with a strong music focus, beyond your classic Broadway musicals and Disney classics. (Although, by all means, throw them into the mix too!) Here’s just a small list to get you started!
