Many children are fascinated by monsters, dinosaurs and colorful beasts. As far as movies go, these well-crafted creatures are the perfect characters to keep young viewers captivated. However, aliens have an aura of unknown and potential danger surrounding them, but this is quickly forgotten in children’s films once audiences recognize the lighthearted nature of the film.
In addition, children’s films often have an energetic and positive tone. They clearly distinguish between right and wrong and generally explore social issues that children can relate to. And, of course, storylines that incorporate aliens make things much more enjoyable and exciting for younger viewers.
10/10 Monsters vs. Aliens is one of DreamWorks best movies
In Monsters vs. aliens, an asteroid containing Quantonium lands on Susan on her wedding day. Amazingly, she makes it to the altar before quickly becoming a giant. The Colossal Bride is then captured by the US government and forced to join the Monster Team. However, Gallaxhar, the evil quantonium-obsessed alien, sends his robotic probes to recover the precious mineral.
Many fans consider animated sci-fi to be one of the DreamWorks Animation’s Best Movies. Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen and Riann Wilson hilariously voice the main characters in their quest to defend Earth from Gallaxhar’s alien clones and robots.
9/10 Lilo and Stitch is a beloved Disney film
by Disney beloved animated film lilo and stitch tells the story of a lonely Hawaiian girl who lives with her older sister. When they go to the animal shelter to find Lilo a mate, she mistakes Stitch for a dog. Yet she adopts the alien anyway after falling in love with his unusual behavior.
It’s a heartfelt story centered on the importance of family. Even though Stitch comes from a different world and was designed to destroy, he bonds with Lilo and she teaches the galaxy’s most wanted alien to care for others. The successful original release led to three more films in the franchise.
8/10 The Gremlins is an iconic film of the 80s
In Gremlins, the protagonist’s father brings home an adorable new pet he found in China, which he calls Gizmo. The alien species is called Mogwai, and before coming to Earth, the creatures were created on a distant planet to bring peace to neighboring civilizations. However, the alien species is unstable as it produces quickly and metamorphoses before transforming into little green troublemakers.
Gremlins was released in 1984 and originally had a rating of 15, which was lowered to PG-13 months after release. These days, kids are exposed to so much more, and the comedic horror movie seems pretty tame by today’s standards. However, the dated classic is considered by many critics to be one of the most iconic films of the 1980s and many people who were children at the time still speak highly of it. Gremlins.
7/10 Home follows a misfit alien and a young girl
In House, the color-shifting alien race of Boov displaces all humans to outback Australia and makes Earth their new home. Oh, the alien protagonist, is voiced by Jim Parsons, who is known for playing Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory. Oh is not favored by his species and finds it difficult to make friends, even with his positive and affectionate attitude.
However, despite the planetary invasion and Oh’s pidgin English, Oh manages to befriend a friendly girl, Tip. The misfit alien helps him on a journey to find his mother while fleeing from Boov’s patrol. House also features the vocals of Steve Martin and musicians Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna, whose tracks are also heard throughout the film.
6/10 The iron giant created nostalgic memories for many people
The iron giant appears to be a huge robot from outer space. However, the definition of an alien is an alien being from another world, and the metallic protagonist meets the requirements. The film is set in Maine in 1957 and Hogarth finds the huge machine in the woods of the fictional town of Rockwell.
The 1999 release features the voices of Jennifer Aniston, Christopher McDonald and Vin Diesel as the metal-eating invader. The friendship story between a nine-year-old boy and a huge mechanical alien has quickly become popular with children. The Iron Giant has created nostalgic memories for people around the world and is an underrated animated film from the 90s.
5/10 Space Jam combines live action and animation
Danny DeVito voices Swackhammer, an alien and the main antagonist of space jam. After hearing about the looney tunes, he orders his alien accomplices to fetch the cartoon characters so he can enslave them and turn them into new attractions for his theme park on Moron Mountain. After agreeing to settle their dispute over a basketball game, the aliens steal the talent of some of the NBA’s best players while the Warner Bros. icons kidnap Michael Jordan.
The iconic ’90s film blends live action and animation and retains the slapstick comedy of the classic cartoon. It’s a perfect combination that appeals to children all over the world. It may be his time, but space jam remains one of the best alien-centric kids movies.
4/10 Astro Kid has high odds
In child astro, Willy is separated from his parents after their spaceship gets caught in an asteroid field on its way back to Earth. His emergency pod lands on an unknown planet and the 10-year-old boy is tasked with waiting for rescuers with his personal survival pod, Buck. Instead, Willy leaves the capsule and decides to explore his new surroundings.
The unusual world is full of colorful ecosystems and alien creatures. Willy encounters dangerous beasts and strange aliens, including Flash, a dog-like creature who joins the Traveler. The protagonist wants to prove to himself and his parents that he is brave, resilient and capable of becoming a true space explorer. child astro has high ratings on review platforms and is adored by thousands of young viewers.
3/10 Planet 51 attracts young viewers
Planet 51 follows a civilization of green beings living in a similar society to the United States in the 1950s. However, when an astronaut lands on his home planet, the human is the alien. After landing on Planet 51, Captain Charles must befriend the locals to escape the paranoid authorities and return to Earth.
The lightweight film makes one of best first impressions and features likable characters voiced by Dwayne Johnson, Justin Long, and Gary Oldman. Many criticize the film for its slightly different animation style. However, due to the alien dramatis personae, he engages younger viewers, and many fans consider him one of the the best animated films of the 2000s.
The iconic movie ET, the extra-terrestrial came out 40 years ago. It tells the story of a young boy named Eliott who finds an alien that has been left behind on planet Earth. He conceals his discovery and hides ET from his mother and the public eye. The alien fulfills Elliott’s desire for a close friend, and due to their strong bond, the two eventually exhibit identical physical and emotional traits.
Although it contained a slight horror, the ’80s children’s film was adored by many young viewers and still captivates audiences today. Due to its captivating narrative, relatable characters, and young protagonist, the famous film does well to entertain children. many believe ET, the extra-terrestrial is one of the best films directed by Steven Spielberg.
1/10 Will Ferrell voices the titular protagonist of Megamind
After being fired as a young alien, the titular evil protagonist of Megamind finds himself in the metropolitan city of Earth. At school, he meets his rival, Metro Man, who has superpowers and is better than him at everything and much more popular. Due to jealousy and bitterness, Megamind soon decides that he is destined to live a life of wickedness. The soundtrack is filled with rock music that reflects his villain personality.
Will Ferrell comically portrays the titular alien. The film also features an all-star voice cast, including Ben Stiller, Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill. DreamWorks Animation tends to produce films that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike, and Megamind is no exception.
